COLLECTIVE: A group of people coming together with a shared purpose
British-curated. Globally represented. Creators by invitation.
Direct access to exceptional art, sculpture, furniture and design for private, commercial and high-specification environments.
Artisan Collective represents over 150 leading independent British artists, sculptors and designers, with more than 1,200 original works and nearly £12 million of work available online. It is not a traditional gallery or open marketplace, but a direct, structured route to sourcing and placing original work, connecting clients straight to the creators behind it.
The website offers a curated view of each creator’s range and capability, with full portfolios, additional works and commission opportunities available through direct conversation. For interior designers, developers, hospitality groups and private clients, Artisan Collective reduces the time, complexity and uncertainty of sourcing original work by bringing a wide range of exceptional creators through one clear point of access.
We can help shape the brief, identify suitable works or commissions, and support the process from first conversation through to placement.
From individual pieces to complex commissions, Artisan Collective provides a clear route into exceptional work for private, commercial and public environments. We simplify access to multiple creators through one carefully managed relationship, removing the need to coordinate separate conversations, timelines and agreements.
Whether you are working to a brief, exploring the Collection, or commissioning something entirely new, Artisan Collective gives you a trusted route into exceptional work - carefully selected, creator-led and ready for real-world environments.

ALASTAIR GIBSON - CARBON ART 45
ENGINEERING INSPIRED SCULPTURE
The Artisan Exposé invites you behind the scenes with Britain’s most compelling creators. This feature captures the world of Alastair Gibson - a pioneer in carbon fibre sculpture and one of the leading artists working with the material today.
After 22 years at the highest level of Formula One, including ten years as Chief Mechanic within the BAR and Honda F1 team, Alastair brings a level of precision and material understanding rarely seen in contemporary sculpture. His work transforms carbon fibre from a material defined by speed and performance into something permanent, sculptural and collectable. Rooted in Formula One heritage, original F1 components are integral to much of his practice, with each piece carrying its own story and provenance.
Selected by Silverstone to design and create the 2024 Formula 1 Qatar Airways British Grand Prix trophies, his work represents a full-circle moment - from operating at the highest level of motorsport to shaping the symbol of victory itself. He has also been commissioned by the National Spitfire Project to produce a collection of carbon fibre Spitfire sculptures, reinforcing the reach of his work beyond the gallery space.
At the forefront of his practice sits Carbon David - a monumental solid carbon fibre sculpture standing 3.7 metres tall and weighing 470 kilograms, constructed from over 7,000 individual layers of carbon fibre across 64 precision-formed blocks. Engineered as a reconfigurable work, it moves beyond static sculpture - designed to be adapted, evolved and experienced rather than simply observed.
